Zagreb, the Croatian capital, is poised to elevate its status as a premier conference destination a new state-of-the-art congress centre. Unveiled by Mayor Tomislav Tomašević, this ambitious project is set to transform a 65,000-square-metre site into a bustling hub for international events and business gatherings.
The planned congress centre represents a significant public investment of €51 million, fully financed by the City of Zagreb. This initiative underscores the city’s commitment to bolstering its infrastructure to meet the growing demands of the global MICE industry.
Cutting-edge facilities
Designed to accommodate a wide range of events, the congress centre will feature a main hall with a seating capacity of 2,500, a secondary hall for 600 attendees, and 25 meeting rooms equipped with the latest technology. Additionally, the project envisions the development of a hotel, an underground garage, and a new public square.
The chosen site holds strategic significance due to its proximity to key transportation links and urban amenities. Construction is slated to commence following a public tender process, with the grand opening anticipated in early 2029.
A vision for sustainable urban development
Mayor Tomašević mentioned that the congress centre is part of a broader vision to revitalise Novi Zagreb, creating a vibrant district that balances business, tourism, and community spaces.
